Hi, I am Frederick Walker, a nature and landscape photographer based in La Fayette, Georgia, dedicated to capturing the wild, timeless spirit of the American South.

My photography is defined by contrast.  I chase the perfect light.  I am drawn to shifting personalities of nature, the rich, atmospheric moodiness of fog-covered mountains in the morning, and the piercing, vibrant brilliance of the golden hour breaking through the trees.  I love the full, chaotic, and sweeping detail of the great outdoors.  My goal is to capture the world exactly as it feels: dramatic, alive, and breathtakingly vast, and to bring the grounding beauty of the wilderness into your home or workspace.

My photography is fueled by a love for the outdoors.  Living in Northwest Georgia gives me access to some of the most spectacular terrains in the country, and my camera takes me wherever the light tells a compelling story and has become an extension of my adventures.  For me, a great photograph requires discipline, waking up before dawn, hiking with heavy gear, and waiting out unpredictable weather to catch that single breathtaking moment.  Every photograph in my collection represents hours of researching, scouting, waiting, and chasing the perfect intersection of shadow and color.

You can usually find me scouting the deep ridges of the Cohutta Wilderness, tracking golden hour across the Cherokee National Forest, or capturing the ancient, fog-draped peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains and the Nantahala National Forest.  The Southern Highlands possess a unique, mystical energy, and this coming year, I am expanding my footprint even further north into the heart of the Appalachian range to bring entirely new, untamed vistas.
